The formative effect of the course of physiotherapy
studies on the occupational attitudes of students
Questionnaire
The questionnaire comprises three parts for a total of 21 closed questions.
The first part is concerned with students’ perception of the physiotherapist profession, its advantages and disadvantages, traits of character that a physiotherapist should possess or values that can be fostered during one’s career as a physiotherapist. This part also contains questions regarding students’ perception of the professional status of physiotherapists relative to doctors and nurses, co-operation with the medical team and relations between physiotherapy and medicine or physical education.
The second part of the questionnaire is concerned with factors that underlay students’ decision to study physiotherapy and the time when this decision was taken.
The third part contains questions regarding students’ expectations of their professional. The questions are concerned with students’ future vocational plans, their willingness to study for the Master’s degree or begin working as a physiotherapist following completion of the bachelor programme. There are also questions regarding students’ opinions on factors facilitating employment in the profession, familiarity with all job opportunities for physiotherapists and the perceived differences in starting work as a physiotherapist in their country and abroad.
There is also a ‘demographics’ section where students provide information such as the mode of study (full- or part-time), other studies or university degrees and their parents’ education and current jobs.
The questionnaire is anonymous and participation is entirely voluntary.
