MEDINE Thematic Network
The Medical University of Warsaw participates in the Thematic Network on Medical Education in Europe (MEDINE) which addresses educational, institutional and quality issues in European medical education within the framework of European initiatives – the Bologna Declaration, European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), Diploma Supplement, the Tuning project, and previous work in medicine by the European Commission, AMEE, AMSE, and WFME. This Thematic Network is coordinated by the University of Bristol.
Target groups are students, educators, patients, healthcare providers, professional bodies, the public, the European Commission and Ministers of Health and Education.
Task Forces share and disseminate their work through Annual Conferences and the Medine website.
Task Forces undertake five principal activities and outputs:
- Tuning Task Force – Agree core competences/learning outcomes for medical education in Europe, using methodology of the Tuning project (leader: University of Edinburgh)
- Quality Assurance Standards Task Force – Develop quality assurance standards for the process of medical education for application in Europe (leader: WFME/AMSE)
- International Recognition of Qualifications Task Force – Develop a framework for international recognition of qualifications, in the context of medical education and links with other professions (leader: University of Antwerp)
- Links between Medical Education and Research Task Force – Explore and develop links between medical education and research (leader: Semmelweis University)
- Transparency and Public Understanding of Medical Education Task Force – Enhance the transparency and public understanding of medical education – undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing – and its outcomes, within and outside Europe (leader: AMEE)
The Medical University of Warsaw is involved in Tuning Task Force and in the Transparency and Public Understanding of Medical Education Task Force.
